How to make a quiz using your question bank

The question bank allows you to store and manage your favorite questions by category. Click here to learn more about how the question bank can help you.

Once you have added your questions to the bank, you can easily make a quiz. This guide shows you the various ways you can make a test using questions from your question bank.

#1. Randomly pick questions by category

Every time a learner starts your quiz, the FlexiQuiz system randomly selects the prescribed number of questions from the required category.

Therefore, each time someone takes your test, they will get a different set of questions.

1. First, you will need to add your questions to the bank.
2. Then you can create a new quiz or edit an existing one.
3. From the Create screen, press Add Item and select Question Bank from the drop-down menu.
4. A pop-up appears displaying your question bank. You will see a list of your categories with the number of available questions in a category. Now, you can choose the category from which you want to pick questions.
5. Next to your chosen category, press Select Action and choose Add to Quiz from the drop-down menu.
6. A new pop-up appears that allows you to enter how many questions you would like to add to the quiz from the category. In this example, we will enter two. The FlexiQuiz system will randomly pick two questions from the ten available in this category. Press Add to confirm your selection.
7. You can now add more questions from a different category or close your question bank.
8. Once you close your question bank, the prescribed number of questions are added to the selected page on your quiz.
9. To randomize the order of the questions, go to the Configure screen and scroll down to Randomize questions. Learn more about options to randomize quiz questions.

#2. Add fixed questions to a quiz

You can store key questions, that are essential to your quiz, in your bank. This section shows you how to add selected questions to your quiz.

1. From the Create screen, press Add Item and select Question Bank from the drop-down menu.
2. A pop-up appears with your question bank. To view all questions in your bank, click on the Questions tab. From here, you can scroll down the page to view all questions or filter by category. To view questions in a category, click Add (next to Filter).
3. To add your chosen question to the quiz, press Select Action and choose Copy to Quiz from the drop-down menu.
4. The question is added to your quiz, however, the category is not assigned. You can share the quiz with respondents with no given category. Alternatively, you can add the question to a category but the system will then duplicate the question. Click the 'x' on the top right to close your question bank.
