FOCUS ON SIMILARITY: Often answers are confused by having similar words and information, but they don't have the same meaning. 
For each question; choose if the two sentences agree or disgaree on the same idea. 

A: There's a new kind of language using new vowel sounds which is spreading rapidly from Victoria to St. John’s.  

B: Spreading rapidly across Canada, there's a new sound coming from a new language.

A:  These changes in the mouth are occurring right in front of us.

B:  These changes are happening in our mouths and underneath our noses.

A:  Even though the new pronunciation is used every day, almost nobody has heard of it.

B: The new pronunciation system has already become so common but it hasn't been given a proper name.

B: As children love to play with a variety of alphabet letters which make language, so should immigrants, visitors and ourselves.

A:  “If we weren’t tolerant,” he says, “we would crack down and say, ‘No, that’s not how it’s pronounced.

B:  “If we weren’t accepting,” he says, “we would break down vowels and insist that newcomers speak like Canadians.

A:  As young women are the ones starting this shift in accents, some experts believe they are subconsciously copying the  California accent to be cool and accepted more. 

B:  Some experts suggest young women are leading an accent shift because they want everyone to know that they identify with California more than Canada.

A:  Instead, we’ve started to push the envelope even further.”

B:  Instead, we’ve started to expand the new language even more amongst ourselves and other native speakers.

A:  Although, the new Canadian vowels only partly resemble Valley Girl  the similarities may be by chance, he agrees the new vowels are th latest.

B: The new vowels are kind of like California's Valley Girl which may not be on purpose but nonethesame Canada's new speech has the same type of popularity.

A:  The new speech is my badge showing the world how cosmo and aware I am.  

B:  The new pronunciation is proof that I am accepting and progressive of other cultures as seen by my speaking closer to their accents
